Bhindi Masala

Of all the sabji bhindi is quite dear to me. Since childhood, this is one veggie that I love eating. And so I am very particular about it's taste. Truly speaking I am fond of only my mum's style of cooking. So this one is cooked as how I love to eat.

This is what I took

Ingredients:

250g Bhindi / Lady Finger
2 Onion
1 Tomato
1 potato
Red chilly Powder (I prefer Kashmiri)
Haldi Powder
Dhania Jeera Powder
1 tsp garlic paste
Methi (Fenugreek)
Salt
3 tblsp Oil
1/2 tsp lemon juice.
Amchur Powder (optional) Sometimes I put, sometimes I don't.

This is How I cook:

  1. Heat Oil on medium flame.
  2. Toss methi dana, once crackles, add potato.
  3. Allow it to turn light brown, then add onion.

  1. Once the onion turns light brown, add garlic and saute.
  2. Then add bhindi.
  3. Put a dash of lemon to help lessen the stickiness.

  1. After you toss the bhindi, add dry spice powder.
  2. Stir for a min. the masala should not stick to the pan.

  1. Now add Tomato. Stir.
  2. Add salt
  3. Cook in low flame.

Once the bhindi - potato is cooked, add a dash of lemon just before removing from the flame.

Serve Hot with Roti. I like to eat Jaggery alongside.

Happy Cooking.
